Garside Tavern (6)
Garside Tavern
I was short on length, so I modified the plans to create an 'L' shaped bar. I skinned the bar out using plywood birch with a red tinted stain. The top is made out of 6000 pennies, covered and sealed in a 2-part epoxy. The kegorator is a 1940's philco fridge that I converted to a beer fridge with 3 taps. I built the bar as I was finishing my basement, but I figure the bar components of it took about 6 full weekends.

Joe's Backyard Patio Bar (6)
Joe's Backyard Patio Bar
This was the first major project I have attempted. I wanted to have a bar for my backyard patio and was thrilled to find your plans online. I followed the plans and added a few "extras". I added doors for the storage space, a drawer, as well as a towel ring. I used ceramic tile for the bar top and shelf. I also added wheels so that I could move the bar around the patio as needed. I was very pleased with the way my bar turned out....

Jonny's 19 Hole (11)
Jonny's 19 Hole
I pretty much followed the standard bar plans with a few mods for a refridgerator. I used slate tile for the back bar and finished it out with some trim with black stain. I also added some under bar lighting.

Dungeon Bar (54)
Dungeon Bar
The Bar is both rustic and high tech; everything within the Dungeon is controlled from behind the bar. For example, an entire city and its rail transportation, two arcade rooms, skeeball machine, Casino, special affects ceilings, stage, dance floor & lighting, animations, karaoke, jukebox, WII, hazing machine, street lights and more are centrally controlled from the Bar. From the bar it’s a short walk to the arcades and casino and on the way your see sights that will entertain all ages

Andrew's Husker Bar (11)
Andrew's Husker Bar
Built this "Husker" bar in our house to entertain for football parties.  Was a Husker from 2001-2004 so made a back bar display to show off the multiple memoribilia items I collected while with the team.
Jule's Beer Cap Bar (8)
Jule's Beer Cap Bar
Jule followed the basic plans provided on the site with a few modifications to make the bar unique.  One very unique feature is the bar top.  The top is finished with over 2000 bottle caps.  I hope you didn't drink all those beers while playing with power tools.  Great Bar Jule!
Jared's National Championship Party Bar (7)
Jared's National Championship Party Bar
Jared is a 28 year old grad student who, like most college students, needed a bar in his apartment.  When his team won the National Championship naturally he built a bar specifically for the occasion.  Both problems solved.

Jared added a few details here and there but for the most part, followed the plans on the site.  The result is this beautiful new bar in his apartment and, of course, Jared being the toast of the town.  Nice work Jared!

Roger's He Man Bar (6)
Roger's He Man Bar
Roger used the original plans from the site but made a few modifications to have a wrap around bar.  He also added shelving above the bar that has some interesting sayings on the customer side.

"He Man Woman Haters Club"

"You're A Gentleman And A Scholar And There Are Damn Too Few Of Us Left"

The bar is overall outstanding.  Great Job Roger!!

Brett's Pine Bar (7)
Brett's Pine Bar
Brett, by his own admission, had never undertaken a major building project before.  After his first build, I'm guessing there will be many more projects to come.

Brett decided to skin the bar with pine planks over the sheeting.  He added a little trim to contrast the light finish and came out with a very nice basement bar.  Now you have to finish the rest of the basement to be as nice as the bar ;).  Nice work Brett!

Joey's Barn Wood Bar (3)
Joey's Barn Wood Bar
Joey decided on a rustic look for his home bar and the project came out very well.  To give the bar that "old barn wood" look, he used some weathered fence boards.  The bar is dressed out with all kinds of rustic decor including a galvanized oblong bucket from Tractor Supply in the middle of the bar shelf interior to ice down longnecks.  Nice work Joey!
Bob's Oak Basement Bar (8)
Bob's Oak Basement Bar
Bob, like many before him, found our plans and set right off to work.  Bob was able to use the same principles to build his back bar as are outlined to build the front bar.  Both the front and back bars are oak inside and out.  Bob also built in a very nice bar fridge and freezer to give his bar everything he needed to have the coolest basement in the neighborhood.  This one is built to last.  Nice work Bob!
Mark's First Bar Build (8)
Mark's First Bar Build
Mark came across the site and decided, like many men before him, that it was time for a bar in his home.  Having never built anything before, Mark did the logical thing.  He went out and bought a miter saw, a jigsaw, and built his own work bench.  This is a good jumping off point for all new builders.  The final result is a really nice bar that Mark and his friends will enjoy for years to come.  Nice work Mark!
Bill's Brick Bar (2)
Bill's Brick Bar
Bill originally built himself a nice wood bar in the basement like the rest of us.  Then one day he got the idea that he needed a little something extra.  The Brick Bar was born.  Add some nice bar decor, a liquor despenser, a hard rock banner, and you're good to .  Nice work Bill.
Stiff's Home Sports Bar (8)
Stiff's Home Sports Bar

Sean and Tiffany decided it was time that they had a home bar. $1k and less than a month later they had Stiff's(the name of their home bar), the baddest sports bar in town. Nice work guys.

Self proclaimed "Weekend Warrior" Kris built this beauty over a couple of months.  The bar features a built in wine cooler, custom foot rest, and tiled work area.  Nice work Kris!

Nick's St. Patty's Day Miracle Bar (7)
Nick's St. Patty's Day Miracle Bar

Apparantly Nick is better at some things than he is at others.  With a party looming the very next day, Nick did not have a bar at his house.  The next day was ST. PATTYS DAY!  This tells up that he is not great at planning ahead.  What Nick is great at is building an entire bar in one day for under $150!  It must be a St. Patty's Day Miracle!

Ken and Sue's Home Bar (21)
Ken and Sue's Home Bar

Ken and Sue started with a stack of 2x4s, a few sheets of birch ply, some stain, poly, and trim, and in three short weeks they magically had a new hang out.  Well there was probably more to it than that, but I can tell  you that for 450 bucks they came up with a great bar that fits perfectly in the space that they had to work with!

Peter's Basement "Mancavia" (15)
Peter's Basement

If anyone needs some ideas for a man cave, I suggest that you give Peter a call immediately.  He took what looks like a simple storage space and made it into a wonderful bar setting that anyone would be proud to call their watering hole.  He used every inch of space and made an outstanding hangout for the guys(or girls).  Nice work Peter!

Carrie's Father/Daughter Bar (7)
Carrie's Father/Daughter Bar

Carrie wanted the place to look nice when her husband got home from deployment so she got out her tool belt and went to work.  What she came up with was this beautiful home bar.  She managed to save some cash by making her own trim and edging.  Believe it or not Carrie got this project done, single handedly, from start to finish for under $400.  Well maybe the single handedly part isn't true, but the budget is.  Carrie had help of this project from dear old dad!

Jay's Basement Bar (4)
Jay's Basement Bar
Jay was nice enough to send in some before, during, and after photos of his basement.  See if you can figure out which ones are which.
Mark's Grand Ole Opry Bar (4)
Mark's Grand Ole Opry Bar

Mark modified the basic plans to add an "L" shape to his bar and also added a nice back bar.  He used a Grand Ole Opry theme to give his bar a really unique look and pulled off the theme wonderfully.  He customized the bar top by adding records, guitar pics, and other memorabilia under the polyurithane.

The bar looks outstanding Mark.  Now all you need is some beer taps and a tip jar!

Jean's Home Bar (4)
Jean's Home Bar

Jean built a beautiful wood bar with built in cabinets and a very nice back bar with a built in bar fridge.  This home bar also features a nice hanging rack for stem ware and lots of storage.

Bill's Home Bar (2)
Bill's Home Bar

ill used the basic plans on the website but made a few adjustments to the bar to suit his needs.  He made the bar about 6 inches taller than the plans called for since he is a big guy and it seemed more comfortable.

To save some cash he used an oak stair railing for his foot rail and used oak stair nosing for the bar rail.  As you can see the bar is finished in a very natural tone.

Looks like it came out great Bill!!  Thanks for the photos.

Walt's Pub Home Bar Photos (8)
Walt's Pub Home Bar Photos

Walt used oak for the shelf and the bar top and pine for the sides.  He decided to make the bar top one inch taller than the plans called for and used chicago bar rail for the arm rest.  Nice looking bar Walt!!

Albert's Home Bar Photos (9)
Albert's Home Bar Photos

Albert built this basement beauty with the help of his 15 year old son Jonathan and his father in law.  They choose to make a wet bar with a nice tile work space and plenty of outlets.  When paired with the pool table and nicely finished basement this bar should provide a great place for all 3 generations to get together and share some good times.  Nice work guys!

David's L Shaped Home Bar Photos (5)
David's L Shaped Home Bar Photos

David modified the plans to create a nice L shaped bar that works well in the space that he has designated for his bar.  He finished the bar off with a nice countertop, wood cabinets, and a double sink.  Nice work David!!

Woody's Portable Home Bar Photos (4)
Woody's Portable Home Bar Photos

This was Woody's first big building project but the finished product is not that of a novice by any means. Woody modified the standard plans to make the bar shorter and mobile. He added aluminum to the counter and workspace and build his own cabinets.

A feature that you don't normally see on portable bars is running water. Well Woody went a step further than that. This outdoor gem has connections for both running water and electricity that can be easily connected wherever he decides to park it.

Very nice work Woody!!

Mike's Budget Home Bar Photos

Mike was looking to build a home bar and not spend a whole bunch of money What he came up with looks like anything but a budget bar While he did get the entire project done for under you would never know it by looking at his new watering hole Mike used pel and stick tile instead of more expensive stainable plywood to finish the bar He used roof and gutter silicon to hold the tiles in place Mike also saved a few bucks by building his own foot rest and finishing it with the exact same tiles The bar is ......Read More
