If you decide to buy your foot railing, make sure that you get all the right pieces. Remember that you'll not only need the bar, but the corner connectors, couplers, and brackets. You can also build a foot rest for fairly cheap. You can do this by just building a 6-8" box that extends the length of the bar. Attach this foot rest at the base of the bar and finish it to match the rest of the bar. This method is quite easy and can look really nice.
